THE STORY BEHIND KARIN'S WORK

Karin Pattie is a Transformation Advisor and creator of the RARE Framework, a structured approach to working at the level beneath behaviour, where the patterns that shape identity, leadership, relationships, and performance actually live.

She works privately with entrepreneurs, founders, investors, creatives, and high-performing leaders at a particular point in life.

Not crisis.

A quieter threshold.

The moment when what has always worked begins to lose its hold. When the outer life appears successful, though the inner experience tells a different story.

Clarity requires more effort.
Emotional responses feel less predictable.
Relationships feel strained.

Decisions that once felt straightforward no longer land in the same way.

It is often here — when achievement is no longer enough to explain what is not working — that people find their way to Karin’s work.

The Business Years

Karin’s background is in business.

She began her career at TWS Public Relations, working across major corporate accounts and developing early expertise in communications, brand positioning, and strategic influence.

She later joined National Panasonic as a Junior Product Manager, operating within highly competitive international markets.

By the age of twenty-six, she had been appointed Marketing Manager for Southern Africa at Schweppes, part of the Cadbury Schweppes Group, with responsibility for regional marketing strategy across an extensive franchise bottler network.

These environments gave her something she draws on to this day:

A direct view of what pressure does to people.

Not how they perform publicly — how they hold internally.

Who is genuinely steady.
Who has simply learned to appear that way.

She later founded a high-end eveningwear company, building it into a multi-million-rand enterprise with three locations across Johannesburg and Pretoria.

That business revealed something different.

What happens when a person reconnects, even briefly, with a more natural and authentic version of themselves.

The way they carry themselves changes.
The way they decide changes.

The energy they bring into a room changes.

Though for most people, it rarely held.

That stayed with her.

The Parallel Path

Running alongside Karin’s business career, largely out of view, was a sustained inquiry into how people actually change.

From her early twenties, she was drawn to the deeper forces that shape behaviour, emotional patterns, identity, and transformation.

While building her professional life, she was simultaneously studying across a wide range of disciplines, including psychology-informed practice, emotional integration, nervous system regulation, meditation, subconscious re-patterning, and energy-based approaches to healing.

For many years, these two worlds existed separately:

The visible world of business, pressure, leadership, and results.

And a quieter parallel path into the mechanics of human change.

Over time, they converged.

The RARE Framework

After more than three decades of study, lived inquiry, and direct work with individuals navigating complex personal and professional challenges, Karin developed the framework that now underpins everything she does.

RARE stands for:

Review · Accept · Release · Empower

Rather than focusing on mindset or behaviour alone, the framework works at the level beneath those things.

It addresses identity structures, emotional imprints, nervous system patterns, and internal adaptations that shape how a person leads, decides, relates, performs, and experiences life.

This is the level at which lasting change becomes possible.

Not through force.

Through precision.

Numala

As demand for her work grew, Karin founded Numala, a private retreat environment created for individuals engaging in deeper transformational work.

For more than a decade, she worked closely with clients in that setting, guiding them through the RARE Framework and refining her approach through years of direct immersion.

Different people.
Different industries.
Different lives.

Though with a consistency she found impossible to ignore:

The same underlying patterns running beneath it all.

The Work Today

Today Karin works privately with a limited number of individuals each year.

People carrying significant responsibility.
People who have invested in themselves.
People who have achieved externally, though know something deeper now needs to change.

Her work is not about surface-level improvement.

It is about restoring alignment between a person’s internal world and the life they have built around them.

So success no longer comes at the cost of self.

That is where this work begins.
